Church Planting=No Sleep

Posted in Church Planting, General Blogging, Religion, Waypoint Church on January 31, 2009 by themousas

Not one night this week have I been to sleep before 1am. That’s probably why I’m soooo worn out. Definitely need some rest prior to Sunday. FYI: Be praying for our new church plant this Sunday as we have our first walk-thru service. I told them last week the greatest spiritual thing you can do is take a nap; unfortunately I didn’t take my own advice this week. Better luck next week.

Interruptions are the Ministry

Those who know me know how much I live by routines. Spend any amount of time around me and you’ll see I’m schedule and task driven. The problem comes when either of those gets out of sync. A few years ago, Adrian Despres challenged a group of us by saying “interruptions are the ministry” For me…most of the time I have to interrupt myself.

Right Tools

Have you ever started a project and realized you didn’t have the right tools to complete it? Today was one of those days. I exchanged a washer and dryer for my in-laws and quickly realized that the dryer plugs did not match. In order to make it work I would need to remove the old dryer’s plug and place it on the new dryer…..without my toolbox. I manged to find a vice grip and very small flat head screwdriver. Halfway through I was frustrated!

Here’s how you respond to these situations:

  1. continue to work because finishing is more important than how you got there
  2. stop and get the tools you need
  3. stop and let someone else do it

I chose to continue and finish…sometimes not having the right tools should make you stop…sometimes it just makes the journey harder. Interesting how life seems to be that way too.

So for any of you who have stuck around and waited for me to start writing again, rest assured. Starting 1/19 there’ll be a new look and more frequent updates. I figured if CJ Spiller was staying at Clemson another year, I should stay the course at blogging!

Go Tigers!!!
