The Road Not Taken (part 1)

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could

 During a the summer of 06 I lead a mission group to Chicago. While working with the Salvation Army we formed some wonderful relationships. When leaving we got to ask some of the visitors their advice for the future of our lives. One said, “you’re only 1 paycheck away from being homeless” Wow! 

Who knew that upon returning from the mission trip that I’d find myself on a new journey; having been given only two more months with my current job due to it’s financial situation. Leslie and I left our ministry position not knowing what would be next. We stood at the edge of the woods wondering which road to take.

Not knowing where to step, I grab a job doing financial aid….again: just barly enough to make ends meet. Over the next year we prayed and sought direction. Each week, each meal, each bill brought new emotions into our life.

Anticipation

Tomorrow’s the day! Hopefully Baby M will get into a good position and the ultrasound will let us know what were expecting. Can’t wait, probably won’t sleep!

What a week!

Sunday was interesting, as Tommy put it…heavy. We got to spend some time with James, Sami and the crew watching the Steelers game Sunday night. Enjoyed a busy, yet productive day in the church office Tuesday. And then four straight days of snow, still working selling christmas trees. It wouldn’t have been that bad, but by Friday afternoon my waterproof boots had been super-saturated and today it was if I was walking in puddles all day. The snow was nice, made all the trees pretty, untill I had to come brush them off so people could buy them….or untill it melted and made me really wet today as I loaded them on the cars. Leslie had fun driving in it! She’s still trying to figure out why she fish-taled most of the way down 279. Needless to say, I’m beat. I need Sunday to help charge me up!
